To create something truly beautiful is a rare gift. Those who are able to pick up an instrument, a paint brush or a pen and with that send a shiver down the spine of anybody who sees or hears it are truly blessed. Many of our Gay Greats are such creative people, able to pluck images and meaning out of thin air and leave a legacy all over the world. But Rudolf Nureyev was unlike all of our other Gay Greats in one simple way. He didn’t need a blank canvas, a piano or a single spot of ink to create something beautiful. All he needed was his own body.
